Kilmarnock Street - water supply mains renewal : Christchurch City Council

What	The renewal of water supply mains in Kilmarnock Street.
Why	To replace and upgrade existing wastewater mains and lateral connections which have reached the end of their lifecycle.
Where	Kilmarnock Street and intersections of Straven Road, Harakeke Street, Matai Street, Mona Vale Avenue, and Deans Avenue.
When	Work will start on 11 January 2021 and is expected to be completed by August 2021.

Details:

Traffic management will be installed to keep both road users and workers safe.

Please be aware that reduced speed limits will be in place and on road parking will be limited during the works.

During construction works, both the water supply mains and lateral connections to the property boundary will be accessed, including work across berms and footpaths.

The new water main will be tested and residents will be informed via letter drop prior to any water shut off.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Access to properties will be maintained using steel plates where required.

Please advise us if you have specific access requirements, such as medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries and any planned works.

There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.

Bins

Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
