The Christchurch motorway programme will provide access to and from the Christchurch central business district, Christchurch International Airport and the Port of Lyttelton.
The Christchurch City Council, New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and other partners are working together to ensure local roads and state highways link together as one network to support the city now and into the future.
While the Council is responsible for planning and maintaining the local road network in Christchurch, state highway planning and maintenance is the responsibility of the NZTA.
